We are excited to announce the “Bonnie Bee” cupcake as the newest edition to our menu of gourmet cupcakes here at The Bean!

Come on in and indulge yourself in the “Bonnie Bee.” A cupcake constructed of moist, mouth-watering oatmeal spice cake, topped with coconut cream custard, and completed with a swirl of smooth vanilla cream cheese frosting. However, a trip to heaven for your taste buds is not the only thing that this cupcake has to offer… “Bonnie Bee” also has a lot of lovin’ behind its creation.

The “Bonnie Bee” is close to our hearts here at the Cocoa Bean, since it is named after Bonnie Beard, cousin and mentor to Gary Rasmussen and Gloria Mugleston, the founders of The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Café. While managing a restaurant near her home in Idaho, Bonnie employed young Gary and Gloria, and taught them the importance of good business while also serving as a mentor and teacher for Gary and Gloria’s future business dreams. Bonnie regularly included the two young entrepreneurs in the workings of the food industry: from the endeavors of the kitchen to the undertakings of the restaurant. Because of this, Bonnie was a big help in providing Gary and Gloria with the knowledge and skill to establish The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Café and its unique, creative, delicious, and amazing gourmet cupcakes and drinks.

In honor of Bonnie Beard’s contribution to Gary and Gloria’s success, we are honored to add the “Bonnie Bee” cupcake to our menu. From Bonnie Beard’s very own oatmeal spice cake recipe, the “Bonnie Bee” will be made and served to all customers searching for an incredible gourmet treat with a lot of lovin’ mixed in.

Want some Cocoa Bean cupcakes for $1.50? Then come see us at the What Today's Women Want Expo today and tomorrow at the Idaho Falls Shilo Inn.

We are excited to be an official vendor in this year's expo, and hope to see all our lovely ladies come say hi and grab some delicious cupcakes. The event will be held all day this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 14-15) with events beginning around 9 am. The Expo also features great classes, speakers and demonstrations on everything from zumba to meal planning.

Our gourmet cupcakes will be available for purchase at a fraction of the price. After grabbing your favorite cupcake, you can browse the Expo's 70 vendors who will be offering a variety of amazing products. Please come and see us! We are hosting a charity event for Trent Rasmussen on June 26th. Trent was recently diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoma cancer and we want to help their family in anyway that we can! Please come to The Cocoa Bean on the 26th-ALL proceeds from that day will go towards Trent and his family. We will also have a raffle and silent auction available. If you are wanting to donate directly to the family there has been an account set up at Zions Bank under the Trent and Holly Rasmussen Fund. A new cupcake cafe is in town. The Cocoa Bean Cafe has been a favorite of locals in Rexburg, Idaho and now they have a location here in The Valley right between BYU and UVU. The perfect location of students. The owners are a brother and sister team, Gloria Mugleston & Gary Rasmussen. The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe stays open later and they have Wi-Fi which is also great for those of us who are up late and of course the schedule of the students near by.

Joanie and I had a chance to try a few of the favorites. I am always a huge fan of lemon and lime flavors but to my surprise my favorite was one of the chocolate cupcakes. It was Joanie's favorite too! It has a great name to fit the experience " There's a party in my mouth". It is a chocolaty gooey perfectly balanced cup of cakey goodness!

The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe also offers a nice variety of tasty hand crafted drinks. The unique drink they offer is a roasted cocoa bean drink like this drink I told you about.

We made cupcakes for a wedding in Logan, Utah. It was so much fun! We were actually attending the wedding-so we frosted and decorated the cupcakes while at the reception.
We made about 400 cupcakes with eight different kinds.
